About the project

As part of the project “Professor Thomas Choi at UE Katowice. That's how it's done”, world-renowned scientist Professor Thomas Choi, who works at Arizona State University and collaborates with numerous universities and research centers worldwide, will be invited as a guest. This project aims to:

  • developing the research staff's key competences in conducting advanced research,
  • expanding project participants' knowledge of research methods (quantitative and qualitative) used in the latest management and economics research, particularly concerning contemporary logistics problems,
  • increasing the publication potential of people participating in activities with the Guest

The project will result in the development of cooperation between employees of the University of Economics in Katowice and one of the most frequently cited scientists in the world dealing with issues of supply chain design and network structures, management of multi-level supply chains, triadic structures in supply networks, supply networks as complex adaptive systems, and financial aspects of supply chain operations. Since logistics research is crucial for optimizing and improving the efficiency of various economic entities, including public administration, improving the competence of researchers in conducting advanced research in this field will bring significant added value not only in the scientific but also in the public sphere.

The project is coordinated by dr inż. Danuta Zwolińska, with the support of Internationalization.

The project has been co-financed by the Metropolis GZM within the framework of the "Metropolitan Science and Education Support Fund" program for the years 2022-2024. All planned activities will be carried out in 2025. The total value of the project is PLN 47,421.00.
