About the project
The project is a continuation of the ECOnomics4Climate project implemented in 2023. Once again, it focuses on innovation for talent development—stimulating the creativity of students and faculty to achieve their potential and adapt the university to future development trends, a specific goal of the "Metropolitan Science and Education Support Fund" program.
The project is a cluster of thematically coherent modules, including activities to promote a new discipline of the Economics of Climate Change. The main activities involve collaboration with world-class scientists (3 guests), from leading European centers. In addition to lectures and workshops, the guest scientists will join in mentoring projects implemented by the faculty members of our university. They will especially mentor young scientists who will research the subjects of the other modules. The proposed research topics are aimed at demonstrating some of the interesting, original and, at the same time, different scientific research that fit into the strategic goals of the GZM, referring to the concept of a "sustainable green metropolis" in its dimensions related to low emissions, energy management and the development of innovative industries in particular.
The "ECOnomics4Climate II" project includes the following initiatives:
- Learning from Masters: prof. Reggie Hooghiemstra;
- Learning from Masters: prof. Yannis Tsalavoutas;
- Learning from Masters: prof. Nazim Hussain;
- Interim preferences in the context of energy transition – mining regions' perspective;
- Green transformation risk management in innovation industry companies;
- Metropolis GZM in the age of technological revolution: mapping the conditions and directions of the development of the gaming sector;
- Sustainable consumer and the energy transformation of the Metropolis GZM.
The project has been co-financed by the Metropolis GZM within the framework of the "Metropolitan Science and Education Support Fund" program for the years 2022-2024 in the amount of PLN 327,106.00.
