About the project

The goal of the "Learning from the Masters: Prof. Reggy Hooghiemstra" project is to increase the scientific research level of our University academic staff in research workshop refinement and scientific work internationalization (opportunities to establish scientific and research cooperation). Prof. Hooghiemstra’s scheduled activities will achieve this goal for multiple vital aspects of conducting scientific work. In the methodological aspect, Prof. Hooghiemstra will provide mentoring support in implementing research projects by both experienced academics and young researchers. Our faculty members will mainly benefit from our guest's vast experience in scientific publications. Prof. Hooghiemstra is the author of numerous scientific publications in top-ranked journals in the discipline of Finance, and his works are highly cited. At the same time, Prof. Hooghiemstra is conducting research in areas that match the primary goal of the ECOnomics4Climate II project. A recognized expert on non-financial reporting, he has recently been working on the relationship between the mechanisms of corporate governance and corporate sustainability, the information policy of company boards on the challenges of climate change in particular. Prof. Hooghiemstra's participation in the ECOnomics4Climate II project is also linked to his involvement in research activities, as he will mentor young academics conducting research as part of the other modules in the project.

The project is coordinated by dr hab. Monika Wieczorek-Kosmala, prof. UE. It is part of the "ECOnomics4Climate II" cluster, which is being implemented by Prof. Wieczorek-Kosmala, with support from Internationalization.

The project "Learning from Masters: prof. Reggie Hooghiemstra" has been co-financed by the Metropolis GZM within the framework of the "Metropolitan Science and Education Support Fund" program for the years 2022-2024 in the amount of PLN 57,434.00.
