About the project
The aim of the "Learning from the Masters: Prof. Nazim Hussain" project is to increase the scientific research level of our University academic staff in the areas of research workshop refinement and scientific work internationalization. The range of activities involves close cooperation with Prof. Nazim Hussain and includes mentoring sessions conducted in the form of consultations focused on supporting the scientific quality of research projects carried out by our young scientists. Joint work on research and a scientific paper is also planned. In addition, Prof. Hussain will hold a guest lecture entitled "Does greenwashing pay off? Evidence from the corporate bond market".
The project is coordinated by dr hab. Monika Wieczorek-Kosmala, prof. UE. It is part of the "ECOnomics4Climate II" cluster, which is being implemented by Prof. Wieczorek-Kosmala, with support from Internationalization.
The project "Learning from Masters: Prof. Nazim Hussain" has been co-financed by the Metropolis GZM within the framework of the "Metropolitan Science and Education Support Fund" program for the years 2022-2024 in the amount of PLN57,434.00.
Project implementation period: March – November 2024.

Scientist's profile
Professor Nazim Hussain is a renowned expert in the field of accounting, especially for his achievements in non-financial report disclosures and greenwashing practices. He works at the University of Groningen.
He has extensive experience in scientific publications. He has authored numerous scientific papers in top-ranked journals in the Finance discipline, and his work is highly cited.
Recently, he has been working on the relationship between corporate governance mechanisms and corporate sustainability, in particular, the information policy of company management boards on the challenges of climate change.
