About the project
The aim of the "Learning from Masters: Prof. Nazim Hussain" project is to improve the scientific research level of our University academic staff in the areas of the research workshop refinement and scientific work internationalization. Included in the activities within the framework of the project are mentoring sessions conducted by Professor Hussain in the form of consultations, focusing on supporting the scientific quality of research projects carried out by young scientists. The project also includes joint scientific work and the preparation of a scientific paper. In addition, Professor Nazim Hussain shall give a guest lecture entitled "Board gender composition and waste management: Cross-country evidence".
The project is coordinated by dr hab. Monika Wieczorek-Kosmala, prof. UE. It is part of the "ECOnomics4Climate" cluster, which is being implemented by Prof. Wieczorek-Kosmala, with support from Internationalization.
The project "Learning from Masters: prof. Nazim Hussain" has been co-financed by the Metropolis GZM within the framework of the "Metropolitan Science and Education Support Fund" program for the years 2022-2024 in the amount of PLN 46,636.00.
Project implementation period: February – April 2023.
Scientist's profile
Professor Nazim Hussain is a renowned expert in the field of accounting, especially for his achievements in the area of non-financial report disclosures and greenwashing practices. He works at the University of Groningen.
He has extensive experience in scientific publications. He has authored numerous scientific papers in top-ranked journals in the Finance discipline, and his work is highly cited.
Recently, he has been working on the relationship between the mechanisms of corporate governance and corporate sustainability, in particular the information policy of company management boards on the challenges of climate change.
