About the project

The aim of the "Learning from Masters: Prof. Yannis Tsalavoutas" project is to improve the scientific and research skills of our University staff, support young scientists through the enhancement of their research skills and the ability to work in an international environment, and internationalize our University via activities that enable direct contact with Prof. Yannis Tsalavoutas, an internationally acclaimed expert in the field of climate change reporting. The project's activities consist of scientific paper-writing workshops led by Professor Tsalavoutas, his assistance to young scientists in their paper preparation, and his close cooperation with the research team by means of mentoring sessions.
The project is coordinated by dr hab. Monika Wieczorek-Kosmala, prof. UE. It is part of the "ECOnomics4Climate" cluster, which is being implemented by Prof. Wieczorek-Kosmala, with support from Internationalization.
The project "Learning from Masters: Prof. Yannis Tsalavoutas" has been co-financed by the Metropolis GZM within the framework of the "Metropolitan Science and Education Support Fund" project for the years 2022-2024 in the amount of PLN 86,737.00.
Project implementation period: February – November 2023.

Scientist's profile
Professor Yannis Tsalavoutas is a renowned expert from the University of Glasgow and the only representative of academic centers in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He serves as a Reviewer of research projects applying for funding from Economic and Social Research Council programs. Having served on the aforementioned boards, he has an excellent overview of what topics are worth pursuing as part of academic work in the near future.
What is also worth mentioning is that he has an above-average experience working for academic journals. He is Chief Editor of the Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting and the European Management Journal (EMJ) – Section Editor for Accounting and Finance. In addition, he serves on the Editorial Board of The British Accounting Review, Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation and Accounting in Europe.
His area of scientific interest includes economics, finance and accounting.
