The main goal of Internationalization Day is to present the latest scholarship and grant offers, as well as funding opportunities for scientific research and other international endeavors. During the event, guests participated in presentations by representatives of institutions and organizations that provide funding for scientific and educational activities. Additionally, a researcher from the University of Economics in Katowice shared experiences from implementing Erasmus+ projects.
The guests of this year's event were officially welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Education and International Cooperation, Prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D., who emphasized in his speech that internationalization should be approached holistically and strategically.
The official opening of the Internationalization Day was performed by Rector Prof. Celina M. Olszak, Ph.D., D.Sc..
This year's Internationalization Day program included three panels, featuring the following presentations:
Panel I
- Horizon Europe as a Program for Scientific Career Development Opportunities, Agnieszka Kwiatkowska, Horizontal Contact Point South-West Poland at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice
- Horizon Europe: The Most Interesting Opportunities, Marzena Łazarczyk, Ph.D., European Research Area Section, National Contact Point, National Center for Research and Development
- Support for the Science Sector in Interreg Programs – Best Practices and Program Offers for 2021-2027, Monika Strojecka-Gevorgyan, Ph.D., Department of Transnational and Interregional Cooperation in Katowice, Department of Territorial Cooperation, Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy
During the event, the Vice-Rector for Education and International Cooperation's Award for Contributions to the Internationalization of the University of Economics in Katowice, InterStar 2024, was also presented. This year's laureate was Szymon Głowania from the Department of Machine Learning.
