Between 26-31 January 2020, 8 international business students representing the International Business Scientific Club of the Department of Consumption Research, whose supervisor is Marta Grybś-Kabocik, together with representatives from universities from Spain, France, Germany, Finland and Belgium, took part in the Markstrat marketing game in the Belgian Bruges. Our students have won the gold, silver and bronze medal! Our representation was supported by prof. Justyna Matysiewicz, Ph.D. and Vice-Rector for Education and Internationalization, Prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D.
During Markstrat – a game organized by the Howest University Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen – students worked in international groups divided into four branches, supervised by lecturers and tutors. Thanks to computer simulations, they had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge on making strategic marketing decisions for companies operating within global competition. The group's success was determined by both the financial result and market shares as well as teamwork and the abilities of presenting the results.
The efforts and very good preparation of our students have resulted in success and winning:
- gold medal – Bartosz Michałek,
- silver medal – Kingę Dzik i Pawła Kozyra,
- bronze medal – Karolina English, Oliwia Forma, Kinga Janiszewska, Martyna Mental, Natalia Plewniok.
The organizers have also appreciated our tutors Magdalena Buhl and Anna Wróbel who received special distinctions and prizes for their reliable work and great involvement in running the Markstrat game and supporting our students.
Congratulations to all students and tutors! We wish you further successes, especially in the realities of the real global market.
